The Magic began the holiday weekend with an intense win over the 76ers on Wednesday and followed the feat with a 15 point victory over the Wizards last night. Orlando will be back on the court tomorrow to take on the 6-8 Pacers who will be lead by the high scoring Danny Granger.
However, it is the Magic with the most to gain, with the most to prove, with the most to show. Orlando will have the home court advantage, something to certainly consider when you take into account the loyal allegiance of the central Florida supporters. Add on to this the fact that the Magic have 5 players averaging over 10 points per game, including Dwight Howard's 21.2 and Rashard Lewis' 17.9.
And while the names of Howard, Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu are certain to grab headlines, it is perhaps the play of J.J. Redick that has been the most impressive statistic of the Magic as of late. During the Magic's current win streak, Redick has totaled 24 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal during 69 minutes of playing time. The emergence of the former Duke star has been a much anticipated moment as Redick has averaged less than 13 minutes per game in his 3 year NBA career, hopefully we will continue to see impressive numbers from this kid which will encourage his growing court time.
In the forthcoming days looking to increase their lead on the Southeast, Orlando will play host to the Pacers, will then travel to Boston to bring in the month of December at 7:30pm, and then it's back to Orlando for Minnesota on the 3rd and Oklahoma City on the 5th.
Check back in later this weekend for a preview of the Boston Celtics matchup and a review of tomorrow's game.
Until then, from Florida's Space Coast, this is the Magic Mule,
